When we got this hutch in our store we were wondering which direction to go in transforming her into a elegant piece.
A great benefit of using Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan is that you don't have to sand before painting however this hutch had some deep scratches so we took it out front and did a light sanding.
Kathleen took this project on herself and decided to use Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan Honfleur and French Linen as the main two colors. She painted the base French Linen and the table top Honfleur. Then she got her creative flag flowing and decided to add a few light brushes of Graphite and French Linen on the table top and shelves. As we were completing this project many of our walk in clients commented on how lovely this piece was.
She added Annie Sloan Clear Wax™ to the legs and the top sides but she wanted the table top and shelves to have a pretty shine so she topped it with three coats of General Finishes High Performance Water Based Top Coat Gloss Finish. That just gave it the final touch it needed.
The pictures don't do it justice. This piece turned out to be beautiful and elegant.
